Four Seasons, Four Very Different Love Affairs

Some couples want the first tender green of spring. Others are devoted to October and would happily marry in a sweater if it meant getting those autumn colors. And then there are the winter romantics, who know a little chill can make an indoor celebration feel especially inviting. We refuse to pick a favorite. It would be like choosing a favorite guest.

Spring: A Fresh Beginning

Spring in Pennsylvania brings changing greenery, soft light and the possibility of a wonderfully garden-inspired palette. It's also famously unpredictable. When planning a spring ceremony, think about footwear, temperature and your weather backup, not just the flowers. Bentley's covered and indoor ceremony possibilities are worth exploring alongside your outdoor vision.

Summer: The Long, Lovely Evening

Summer weddings invite a little more daylight and plenty of room for expressive color. Consider how guests will stay comfortable during outdoor portions of the celebration and discuss timing with your planner and photographer. At Bentley Farms, the estate's outdoor spaces can become part of the experience, while the indoor setting offers a different atmosphere for the celebration.

Autumn: All That Character

Fall has a way of making an old estate look particularly at home. Rich color, changing leaves and textured florals suit the season beautifully, but you needn't put a pumpkin on every table. A modern, pared-back palette can look just as striking. Remember that daylight changes quickly in autumn; your photographer and planner can help you make the most of it.

Winter: An Unexpected Favorite

Winter can be intimate, elegant and wonderfully atmospheric. Think deep colors, thoughtful lighting and the pleasure of everyone gathering indoors. It also asks for practical planning: travel conditions, daylight and guest comfort deserve a place in the conversation. There's no need to promise snow to create a beautiful winter wedding.
